2 PR insights from PressDoc users

Umbrellian Foundation

Marc Fleskens of Umbrellian Foundation:

My best advice to share an online press release is to search for people in your network who have a wide range of people in their own network (many followers / friends on Twitter and Facebook, many groups on LinkedIn, etc.). Then you approach that person directly with a request to help you spread the link to their own followers, preferably with a personal intro message. This way you make the best use of the people in your network and increase the involvement of the second and third line followers.

De Buurtboer

Caroline van der Lande of De Buurtboer:

We think the most important trigger to read a press release is a catchy title. It is also important that the subject is topical within the current time spirit. Local and fresh food are quite popular at the moment.

We always try to make a press release as concisely as possible, so that interested parties can simply use the content without having to make any adjustments.

In preparing the content, we deliberately used appropriate keywords, so that the message will be read by relevant people and a suitable target group.

What do you need to share your press release successfully? It is not just your own network which makes your press release successful, it can also be your second and third line followers. This shows that networking is incredibly important. Networking isn’t always about business only, it is about the human contact. Stay in touch with your followers, show them that you care.

It also comes down to the basics of writing a catchy title and using the appropriate keywords. We can not say this enough: the headline tells it all. Ask yourself: what would tempt me to read a press release? What would I want to read? Just put yourself in your reader’s shoes and you will come a long way.

Do you have others tips and trick you would like to share? We are very interested!

I just want to say that these blog posts are very helpful. Most of us are used to slapping something up on PRWeb and crossing our fingers for a bite.

PressDoc seems to finally put the “Guerilla” in Guerilla Marketing, where you truly are in control of everything from content to distribution.

Your nuggets in these posts make the transition so much easier. Well done.
